Find a rentalFree for renters and buyers
Find a home to rent or buy anywhere in New Zealand. Book viewings, apply with one profile and keep your documents in one place. Nothing is shared until you're shortlisted and say yes.
Every lister's ID is checked, and every listing is looked over before it goes live.

Each agency has its own form, so you type the same answers and upload the same payslips again and again. A few weeks into flat hunting, it's hard to say who still has your bank statements.
Set up once, then use it for every home you're interested in.
Add your household, work, where you live now and a referee or two. Keep your payslips, bank balance and other documents in your account, ready to go.
Pick one of the times the lister has set, or ask for another. Can't get there, maybe because you're moving from another city? Ask to apply anyway.
Apply with your profile in one go. The lister sees a summary. Your documents, referees, employer and street address stay private.
If they shortlist you, we ask you first. Verify your ID once, then share with one small button. Sharing ends when the listing closes, or sooner if you stop it.
Moving soon? The free moving checklist covers power, broadband, insurance and changing your address.
Free for renters and buyers. Landlords, agents and private sellers pay one subscription to list, with the first month free.

Find a rentalBrowse homes for sale, book viewings and send your details to the agent or seller. Offers are made with them directly.
See homes for saleList as many homes as you need on one subscription. Set viewing times, see who's booked, shortlist applicants, then see their documents and referees once they agree.
See how it worksThe office manager subscribes and invites the team. Every agent's listings in that office are covered. Other offices, even in the same company, subscribe on their own.
Applicants arrive with their profile, and you only see documents after they've agreed. You do your own reference checks, with the referees' details right there.
Built in for the renters who usually find it toughest.
Describe your pet, tick what's true, add someone who can vouch for them and say if you're happy to pay a pet bond. Search for homes that allow pets.
No rental history yet? Say it's your first rental and add a guarantor. Look for listers who welcome first-time renters.
Applying together? Add your flatmates' emails when you apply. They make their own profile and join the same application.
Okeydoor is built around New Zealand's Privacy Act 2020 and the Privacy Commissioner's guidance for renting.
Listers see a summary when you apply. Your documents, referees, employer and address wait until you're shortlisted and agree.
When you're shortlisted, we ask first. Share with one tap, or say no thanks. Nothing goes anywhere without you.
Sharing stops when the home is let, sold or taken down, and you can stop it sooner at any time.
We show you each time a lister opens one of your documents. We never sell your information.
Yes, for renters and buyers. Landlords, agents and private sellers pay a subscription to list homes. Their first month is free, then it's $49 a month for three months and $89 a month after that, or $828 a year.
Landlords, property managers, agents and owners list their homes straight on Okeydoor. We don't copy listings from other websites. Every lister's ID is checked before their first listing goes live, and we look over every listing before it's published.
Book a viewing first. After it, open the listing and tap Apply. If you can't make a viewing, you can ask the lister if you can apply anyway, and they can say yes.
Yes, once, the first time you share your documents. Stripe runs the check with your passport or NZ driver licence and a quick selfie. Listers see that you're verified. Okeydoor keeps the result and your verified name, not the photos. Listers do their own reference checks.
Photo ID, proof of income, your bank balance (just the total, nothing else), a credit report, references, rent history, a Work and Income letter, a finance pre-approval, pet documents and anything else a lister might ask for.
Yes. Describe your pet, tick what's true (desexed, microchipped, vaccinated and so on), add someone who can vouch for them and say if you're happy to pay a pet bond. You can also search for homes that allow pets.
Yes. Tick that it's your first rental and add a guarantor if you have one. Some listers say they welcome first-time renters, and you can search for those homes.
Yes. When you apply, add your flatmates' email addresses. We'll invite them to make a free profile and join the same application, so the lister sees the whole flat together.
In your Okeydoor account. Your documents can only be opened by you, or by a lister you've shared them with while their listing is open. When a listing closes, sharing ends, and we delete the applications 30 days later.
Yes. Okeydoor installs straight from your browser on iPhone, Android, Windows and Mac, with its own icon and notifications. There's no app store and nothing to pay. See how to get the app.
No. Okeydoor is run by Okeydoor Limited, an independent New Zealand company. Agents can list homes here, but Okeydoor isn't owned by or linked to any agency.
